About the School

The 14th PyeongChang Music Festival and School

The PyeongChang Music Festival and School (GMMFS) is an exceptional classical music experience, where students learn from a diverse body of artist-faculty from Europe, Asia, and North America, through individual instruction, chamber coachings, master classes, special lectures, and informal conversation as they mingle during mealtimes or on the campus. Many celebrated, veteran performers and composers have participated over the years, along with some of today’s most dynamic young artists on the musical scene.

The Festival and School, celebrating its 14th year in 2017, is presented by Gangwon Province and Gangwon Arts & Culture Foundation, and is held at the Alpensia Resort and YongPyong Resort, Korea’s all-season ski resorts. The region boasts spectacular mountain views, full-service accommodations, a 630-seat chamber music concert hall, a 1300-seat music tent, water recreation center, golf courses, and local-flavor restaurants. Take a ski-lift or moderate hike between rehearsals for a multi-sensory experience.
